Bound: the Global Slave Trade

The Institute for the Theology of Culture: New Wine, New Wineskins presents its spring conference, “Bound—the Global Slave Trade”, on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Multnomah Bible College & Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon. “Bound” will explore the topics of the present-day slave trade including human trafficking, sex slavery, and the ways consumerism affects this on global, local, and personal levels.

Speakers will include: Professor Chris Carey of Portland State University, former Executive Director of The Daywalka Foundation; Former US Congresswoman Linda Smith, Founder and Director of Shared Hope International; and Professor Paul Louis Metzger of Multnomah Biblical Seminary, Director of New Wine, New Wineskins.

“Bound” will consist of keynote speakers addressing various topics, workshops on specific aspects of the global slave trade, an interactive panel discussion, and the opportunity to connect with local and national organizations that are making a difference worldwide. Come prepared to have your eyes opened, your heart softened, and your mind engaged with this timely and moving topic!
