Homeward Bound: A Home for the Homeless

This conference partnered with Ron Marlette, of Mission Solano, and local leaders (sacred and secular) to offer redemptive, holistic ways of engaging the plight of homelessness in the greater Portland area. The conference’s aim was to give attendees a window into the homeless culture in Portland and to equip them to be active participants in assisting homeless people. Practitioners and experts in the field, including representatives from Citizens Commission on Homelessness, Portland Rescue Mission & Shepherd’s Door, Transitional Youth, Human Solutions, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, My Father’s House, and Bridgetown Ministries, offered insights into how to tackle the growing problem of homelessness.
