Globalization has exposed the need to develop our theology from a broader global perspective. This is especially urgent with respect to anthropology. It means striving to examine scripture through a non-western lens that is more reflective of the ancient near eastern context in which the Bible was written and asking bigger questions to ensure that conclusions apply universally, not merely to a privileged western demographic. This article explores the Bible’s message regarding a woman’s identity, value, and purpose from birth to death, regardless of circumstances, and covers the full demographic spectrum from power to powerlessness—CEOs and heads of state to trafficked women and babies aborted simply because they are female. At creation God makes three foundational theological statements regarding his daughters that frame every woman’s story with meaning and kingdom purpose and are the focus of this study.
